About Wicklow

Sugar Loaf HillThe beautiful coastal town of Wicklow is the perfect setting for your idyllic holiday or short break.

Wicklow Town sits around an attractive working harbour, backed by the lush greenery and mountains of the County of Wicklow and flanked by six miles of coastline stretching as far as the eye can see.

Referred to by locals as the 'Garden County', Wicklow County has many celebrated gardens well worth a visit, including both Mount Usher, four miles north of the town and home to artists and craftsmen, with craft shops and galleries displaying their work and Powerscourt with its famous House, Gardens and Waterfall.

Further north is Dublin accessible by bus from the stop outside the cottage, by train or by car in less than an hour. Dublin offers all the varied resources of a capital city combining history as at Trinity College and Dublin Castle with up to date attractions at Temple Bar or the Guinness Brewery and world class shopping in Grafton Street.

To the south lies Wexford with its famous Opera Festival and Waterford with its Lead Crystal glass factory.
